Day 2

The food was excellent! I think I will buy their cook book before I leave.

Workouts for today:
 2 hour hike ( appox 4 miles)
 45 min Zumba class
45 min interval cardio training class
45 min Boot Camp Class ( season 7 biggest loser reality cast member, Sione, taught this class)
45 min Deep End Suspension Class ( in pool)

The workouts were intense, yet fun. The trainers here are very positive and motivating.

Today's seminars: Emotional Eating, Meal Planning, and Making Food Work for You.
The lectures were great. The nutritionists and life coaches here are amazing.

What I learned from the nutritionist:
1. Eat more water rich and fiber filled foods.
2. Food is medicine for your body.
3. Go back to basics! Potatoes grow in the ground. They are healthy for you. If it grows in the ground then it will fill your body with nutrients.
4. Plant based diet should be your foundation. Carbs and lean protein should be the garnish.
5. Half your plate should be vegetables and fruit.

Life coach :
1. Your emotional management drives your fitness and nutrition.
2. Don't let a slip turn into a fall.
3. Ask yourself why you are eating? Isit because you are bored, stressed, happy, sad, etc.  If you ate your meal and you are still looking for something to eat, you are emotionally eating.  Instead you can read a book, listen to music, go for a walk, or talk to a friend. You can do anything you want except eat again. When your body is hungry it's not asking for junk, it's asking for nutrients.

Planning meals:
1. Planning ahead and being prepared is key to healthy living.

2. Prepare meals in bulk and connect them to multiple meals for the week so that you are not spending hours in the kitchen. Choose one day out of the week to prepare your meals.  Begin by choosing 2 protein options to provide 2-3 meals each. For example: grilled chicken--  one day that week you can have a grilled chicken salad, another day you can use the grilled chicken to make a pasta dish, and then one day you can have chicken tacos.

Today was very busy and I am feeling it all over!!! I even made an appointment with the chiropractor tomorrow so that my body can feel a little better. I have heard nothing but amazing things about this chiropractor, so I am hoping he can work his magic on my very sore body. It hurts to get in and out of bed!!!

Anyway, that was my day and I am amazed that I did it!  When you have no excuses to not do it, you persevere and get through it. After the hike today I thought to myself there is no way I can workout for the rest of the day, and somehow did! Today I learned that if you push yourself, you will be amazed with what you can do and accomplish!
My group hiked to the top of these rocks and beyond!!!
